THE VALLEY — Tioga senior Gavin Albrecht will vie for a state title in the pole vault Saturday at the New York State Indoor Track & Field Championships, while Athens seniors Hanna Rathbun and Leah Nason wrestle for seventh place at the PIAA Girls Wrestling Championships.
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
NY State Championships, 10 a.m. @ Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex: Albrecht, the reigning Division 2 state champion in the pole vault, is the ninth seed at the indoor championships Saturday with a seed height of 14-feet, 6-inches.
The top seed is Luke Beattie of Warwick Valley at 17-feet, 4-inches.
GIRLS WRESTLING
PIAA Championships, 11:30 a.m. @ Giant Center, Hershey: Rathbun (37-7) will square off with Upper St. Clare freshman Sydney Laboon (36-10) in the seventh-place match.
Nason (28-6) will face senior Karla Montes (21-8) of Allen Saturday in the seventh-place match.
