Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — The 2026 spring season gets under way this week, and the Sayre baseball team, which has four games schedules, and softball team, three games on the slate, kick it off in high gear.
There are 10 events on this week's schedule, including five on Friday.
The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:
MONDAY (2)
• The Sayre baseball and softball teams, who were scheduled to start their seasons Friday, are now slated to open the 2026 season at Millville.
TUESDAY
There are no games on the schedule.
WEDNESDAY (1)
• Sayre baseball is on the road at Wyalusing.
THURSDAY (2)
• Sayre baseball and softball play their first home games of the season, with Sullivan County in town at Riverfront Park.
FRIDAY
There are no games on the schedule.
SATURDAY (5)
• Waverly will open the 2026 flag football season at home against Greene.
• The Athens softball and baseball teams open the 2026 season at Towanda.
• Sayre baseball and softball host Canton in NTL Small School divisional contests.
