Valley Sports ReportCANTON — Canton took an early lead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, then ended the game with a 10-run rally in the fourth inning of a 15-0 season-opening win over Sayre here on a chilly Saturday afternoon.
The Redskins were no-hit by freshman Raya Preston, who struck out five and walked on in four innings.
Senior Amaya Southward drew a walk and was Sayre's lone base-runner in the contest.
The Redskins committed 12 errors in the loss.
Junior Zoey Ward was tagged with the loss, allowing three earned runs on eight hits, while striking out one and walking two in 3 1/3 innings of work.
Sayre returns to action Thursday at Williamson.
