THE VALLEY — The 2026 spring season shifts into high gear Monday, but Mother Nature may play her usual role in the spring as a spoiler with rain in the forecast Tuesday through Friday.
There are 32 games on the docket this week, including nine on Thursday and eight on Monday.
The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

• Athens baseball opens the season at Towanda.
MONDAY (8)
• Tioga baseball and softball open the season at home against Moravia.
• Waverly baseball opens its 2026 campaign at home against Chenango Forks.
• Waverly softball hosts STAC divisional rival Owego.
• Waverly tennis hosts Susquehanna Valley.
TUESDAY (5)
• Sayre hosts Athens and Northeast Bradford in its first home track meet of the season.
• Athens baseball and softball hosts NTL Large School rival Wyalusing.
• Sayre softball hosts Small School rival NEB.
• Waverly opens the girls golf season at home against Corning at Tomasso's Golf Course.
WEDNESDAY (4)
• Waverly baseball hosts Forks in the second game of its three-game series.
• Waverly softball hosts divisional rival Seton Catholic.
THURSDAY (9)
• Athens and Waverly will be in action at the annual Molly Dry Track & Field Invite.
• Athens softball hosts North Penn-Liberty, and Athens baseball hosts North Penn-Mansfield.
• Waverly flag football hosts Chenango Forks.
• Sayre will be in action at the Ron Kirby Track & Field Classic.
FRIDAY (4)
• Tioga baseball hosts Dryden in IAC crossover action.
SATURDAY (1)
• Waverly hosts Syracuse Henninger in a non-league flag football game — it's third of the season.
