NTL BOYS TRACK & FIELD: COOK LEADS ATHENS TO WINS OVER NEB, SAYRE (21 PHOTOS) (2026-03-31)

SAYRE — Senior Ryan Cook was a quad-winner to lead Athens to wins over Northeast Bradford and Sayre here Tuesday afternoon in NTL boys track & field action at Alumni Stadium

Seniors Alex Thompson and Chase Ingram, and junior Graham Wanck were triple-winners for the Wildcats, who tallied 131 points, while the Panthers had 46 points, and junior Hudson Malanoski had the only win for the Redskins, who had eight points.

Cook won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.13, edging out his teammate sophomore Patrick Umber, and junior Ryder Morley, who was third in 12.14 seconds. 

Cook, Umber and Morley also finished 1-2-3 in the 200-meter dash. Cook broke the tape in 24.16 seconds, while Umber clocked in at 24.43 seconds, and Morley finished in 24.62 seconds.

Cook, Umber, and Ryder teamed with junior Brayden Westbrook to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 45.73 seconds.

Cook, Westbrook and Thompson teamed with freshman Avery Gorsline to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:45.08.

Thompson won the 400-meter dash in a time of 55.1 seconds, while Umber was second in 57.75 seconds, and junior Holden McKeever was third in 1:00.23. Sayre junior Austin Quattrini was fifth in 1:07.4.

Thompson teamed with Graham Wanck and juniors Lucas Persun and Matt Rossettie to win the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 9:25.86.

Graham Wanck won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:14.5, while junior Lucas Persun was fourth in 2:18.56, and Sayre junior Glenn VanBenthuysen was sixth in a time of 2:32.62.

Graham Wanck won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:01.98, while Persun was second in 5:19.82, Rossettie was third in 5:24.94, and VanBenthuysen was fifth in 5:37.16.

Ingram won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 18.99 seconds, and sophomore Jacob Gorsline was second in 21.35 seconds.

Ingram won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 11-feet, and McKeever was second at 8-feet.

Ingram also won the triple jump with a mark of 35-feet, 7-inches, while freshman Izaiah Bailey was second at 34-feet, 7-inches, and freshman Cy Yeager was fourth at 33-feet, 1 1/2-inches.

Bailey won the high jump at 5-feet, 4-inches, with junior Christopher Moore and Westbrook finished second and third, respectively, at the same height.

Bailey also won the long jump with a leap of 18-feet, 4 1/2-inches, and Yeager was fourth at 17-feet, 1/4-inch. VanBenthuysen was 10th at 15-feet, 5-inches.

Athens freshman Shayan Ankam won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 50.19 seconds, and Jacob Gorsline was second in 52.01 seconds.

Athens senior Brenden Comstock won the discus with a throw of 138-feet, 6-inches, and Sayre junior Hudson Malanoski was second in 93-feet, 6-inches. Sayre sophomore Zach Cross was 13th at 58-feet, 4 1/2-inches.

Malanoski won the shot put with a heave of 45-feet, 2-inches, and Comstock was second at 43-feet, 7-inches. Cross was seventh at 29-feet, 11-inches.

Athens junior Zach Fisher won the javelin with a throw of 119-feet, 4-inches, and Ingram was second at 100-feet.

Athens senior Parker Wanck finished second in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 10:57.48, and junior Alex Arcesi was third in 11:19.31. VanBenthuysen was sixth in 13:16.57.

Athens and Sayre return to action Thursday at the Ron Kirby Relays at Canton.
