MANSFIELD — Mansfield pushed three runs across the plate in each of the first two innings and went on to defeat Sayre, 10-0, in six innings in NTL baseball action here Saturday.
Two singles, a walk, an error and a dropped third strike allowed the Tigers to plate their first trio of runs.
Kiyshon Kole walked, Karter Green singled and Tucker Green was hit by a pitch to load the bases for the Redskins in the second, but they were unable to get a run home.
A double, two singles and a walk in the bottom half of the second doubled the Mansfield advantage to 6-0.
Braydon Northrop walked to lead off the third and Karter Green did likewise in the fourth, but Mansfield’s Andy Hermansen retired the side in both instances
The Tigers increased their lead to 8-0 in the fourth on a double, single and error.
Sayre got a double from Shaine Strickland in the fifth, but was unable to capitalize on the extra-base hit.
The Tigers tacked on two more runs in the sixth. Hermansen was hit by a pitch, stole second and third, and scored on a ground out.
Mansfield ended the game on back-to-back singles by Ryder Breon and Isaac Sparks, scoring Breon.
