Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER — Thunderstorms halted Tioga's home meet here Tuesday afternoon, but Vida Rossi, Dominic Palmer and James Miller were multiple winners in IAC track & field action at Haggerty Field.
BOYS
Palmer and Miller each won two events to pace the Tigers in action against Newark Valley, Candor, and Notre Dame.
Palmer won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 17.8 seconds. He was third in the long jump at 16-feet, 7 3/4-inches.
Miller won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:02.5.
Palmer and Miller teamed with Gavin Albrecht and Joey Wilkinson to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 47.2 seconds.
Albrecht was second in the 100-meter dash in 11.9 seconds, and Miller was fourth in 12.2 seconds.
Markel Watkins finished second in the shot put with a heave of 35-feet, 1/2-inch, and Bailey Rugh was fourth at 32-feet, 8-inches.
Talon Wood placed fourth in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:15.6.
Shane Spiegel finished fourth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:06.8.
GIRLS
Rossi was a triple-winner for the Lady Tigers, and Amber Bennett logged their only other win.
Rossi won the 100-meter dash in 13.0 seconds, while Grace Howey was second at 13.2 seconds, and Natalie Kemp was fourth at 13.9 seconds.
Rossi, Howey, and Kemp teamed with Sadie Marshall to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 53.5 seconds.
Rossi also won the long jump with a leap of 17-feet, 1 3/4-inches.
Amber Bennett won the pole vault at 7-feet, 6-inches.
Bennett finished third in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 19.1 seconds. She also finished third in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:17.3.
Sara Prough finished second in the discus with a toss of 69-feet, 4-inches.
Reese Mills placed fourth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:56.4.
Kemp finished fourth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:13.6.
Kendall Ward placed fourth in the shot put with a heave of 22-feet, 1 1/2-inches.
Tioga hosts the Twisted Relays Friday afternoon.
