STAC TRACK & FIELD: TRIPLE-WINNER CHANDLER, SEVERAL DOUBLE-WINNERS LEAD WAVERLY BOYS, GIRLS IN SWEEP OF CHENANGO VALLEY (2026-04-21)

BINGHAMTON — Sophomore Jaxon Chandler was a triple-winner, while a number of athletes were double-winners in Waverly's dual meet sweep of Chenango Valley here Tuesday in STAC track & field action.

On the girls side, sophomores Gianna Soprano, Kaylin Twedt, and Kendall Rockwell, and 8th-grader Kezlyn DeKay were double-winners, while junior Chase Wheeler was a double-winner on the boys side.

GIRLS
Waverly 67, CV 50
Soprano won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:13.8, and Haley Larrabee was second in 1:15.3.

Gianna Soprano won the pole vault at 7-feet

Twedt won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.9 seconds, and senior Kaitlyn Sutton was second in 13.2 seconds.

Twedt and Sutton teamed with senior Haley Larrabee, and junior Ryleigh Judson to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:20.8.

DeKay won the 200-meter dash in a time of 28.4 seconds, and sophomore Tressa Allen was second in 30.6 seconds.

DeKay finished second in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 17.4 seconds.

Rockwell won the discus with a toss of 72-feet, 6-inches, while Kenna McEwen was second at 46-feet, 6-inches, and Miranda Ferger was third at 42-feet, 11-inches.

Rockwell also won the shot put with a heave of 24-feet, 11 3/4-inches.

Sophomore Miah Correll won the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:56.3. She finished second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:55.9.

BOYS

Jaxon Chandler won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 17.9 seconds, and Wyatt Chandler was second in 21.4 seconds.

Jaxon Chandler also won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:03.4.

Jaxon Chandler won the high jump at 5-feet, 6-inches, and Wyatt Chandler was third at 5-feet.

Wheeler won the 100-meter dash in 11.8 seconds, while freshman Maddox Presher was second at 11.9 seconds, and senior Andrew Larrabee was third at 12.0 seconds.

Wheeler won the 200-meter dash in 24.3 seconds, while sophomore Drayton DeKay was second in 24.4 seconds, and Presher was third in 24.9 seconds.

Junior Chase Hine won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:49, and sophomore Hayden Montanye was second in 4:51. Hine was second in the 800-meter run in 2:13, and Garrett Akins was third in 2:40.3.

Senior Hayden Howe won the 400-meter dash in 57.8 seconds and freshman James Cole was second in 59.3 seconds.

Senior Troy Beeman won the discus with a toss of 126-feet, 10-inches, and junior Carson Rockwell was second at 96-feet, 10-inches. Beeman was second in the shot put at 38-feet, 11-inches.

Junior Rhylee Stotler won the pole vault at 12-feet, and sophomore Jesse Lantz was second at 11-feet.

Waverly returns to action Friday at the Lasagna Invite at Wyalusing High School.
