STAC BOYS TENNIS: WAVERLY PULLS OUT 4-3 WIN OVER SUS. VALLEY (2026-04-23)

WAVERLY — Waverly won two of three doubles matches to pull out a 4-3 win over Susquehanna Valley and snap a two-game losing skein here Thursday afternoon in STAC boys tennis action.

Nate Kellogg won the second singles match by scores of 6-1 and 7-5, and Nate McEwen dominated in the third singles match by scores of 6-2 and 6-0.

Trent VanDyke and Collin Wheeler teamed in the first doubles ti win a straight set decision over Daniel Kalashnik and Brayden Kaczynski. The Waverly duo won a 7-6 decision in the first set, pulling out an 8-6 win in the tiebreaker. They cruised to a 6-1 win in the second set. 

Tammo Bruns and Finn Williams clinched the win for the Wolverines with a 6-3, 6-3 win in the third set.

Waverly, now 5-3, returns to action Friday when it hosts Oneonta.
