IAC TRACK & FIELD: ROSSI BREAKS OWN SCHOOL RECORD AGAIN; TIOGA GIRLS, BOYS EARN SPLITS AT DOUBLE DUAL (20 PHOTOS) (2026-04-28)

NEWFIELD — Sophomore Vida Rossi was a double-winner and broke her own school record in the long jump, and sophomore Amber Bennett and senior Dominic Palmer earned Tioga's only other wins here Tuesday in an IAC track & field double-dual.

The girls and boys teams both topped Spencer-VanEtten, but dropped decisions to Newfield.

Rossi won the long jump with a school-record mark of 18-feet, 2-inches, and freshman Elizabeth Sack was third at 13-feet, 3 1/-inches. 

The previous record was 17-feet, 10-inches, which Rossi re-set on April 18.

Rossi also won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.41 seconds, and freshen Grace Howey was second at 13.37 seconds.

Rossi was second in the high jump at 4-feet, 4-inches.

Sophomore Amber Bennett won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:23.28, and freshman Maren Seaver was third in 1:32.67.

Howey was second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 29.32 seconds, and freshman Natalie Kemp was fourth in 30.13 seconds.

Sophomore Reese Mills placed second in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 14:03.19.

Mills placed third in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:50.37, and sophomore  Aubrey Bennett was fourth in 7:42.56.

She also finished third in the 400-meter run in a time of 3:01.0.

Junior Sadie Marshall placed second in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.61 seconds, while Amber Bennett was third in 19.5 seconds, and Seaver was fourth in 21.65 seconds.

Junior Sara Prough placed second in the discus with a toss of 68-feet, 6-inches.

Amber Bennett was third in the triple jump with a mark of 24-feet, 11-inches.

BOYS
Tioga 74, S-VE 57
Newfield 86, Tioga 37

Palmer logged the only win for the Tioga boys, winning the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.38 seconds.

Senior Gavin Albrecht placed second in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.25 seconds, and senior James Miller was fourth in 12.09 seconds.

Albrecht also placed second in the long jump at 19-feet, 1/4-inch, while Miller placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:03.54.

Junior Caden Rapp placed second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:34.91

Senior Talon Wood finished second in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:12.7. He was also second in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 12:17.44.

Junior Markel Watkins placed second in the shot put with a heave of 36-feet, 3-inches, and Palmer was third at 33-feet, 6-inches.

Junior Bailey Rugh placed third in the discus with a toss of 104-feet, and Watkins was fourth at 95-feet, 9-inches.

Sophomore Shane Spiegel was fourth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:07.41.

Tioga is in action Friday at O-M in the annual "Legends of the Night" Invite.
