STAC TRACK & FIELD: TWEDT, SOPRANO LEAD WAVERLY'S EFFORTS AT RAIN-SOAKED TRI-MEET (20 PHOTOS) (2026-04-30)

HORSEHEADS — Sophomores Kaylin Twedt and Gianna Soprano notched Waverly's only wins here Thursday at a very wet STAC track & field tri-meet.

GIRLS
Corning 70, Waverly 22, Horseheads 12

Kaylin Twedt won the 100-meter dash in 13.29 seconds, while senior Kaitlyn Sutton was third in 13.47, and 8th-grader Kezlynn DeKay was fifth in 13.95 seconds.

Kaylin Twedt also placed third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 27.5 seconds.

Soprano won the pole vault at 6-feet, 6-inches.

Twedt, Soprano, Sutton and DeKay teamed to finish second in the 400-meter relay in a time of 52.2 seconds.

Sophomore Kendall Rockwell won the high jump.

Rockwell placed third in the discus with a toss of 64-feet, 1-inch.  She also placed third in the shot put with a heave of 24-feet.

Sophomore Miah Correll was fourth in the 1,500-meter run.

BOYS
Corning 66, Horseheads 35, Waverly 13

Junior Jayden Washington finished second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:11.9.

Senior Troy Beeman won the discus with a toss of 124-feet, 8-inches. He finished third in the shot put with a heave of 38-feet, 8-inches.

Junior Chase Wheeler, freshman Maddex Presher, junior Rhylee Stotler, and sophomore Jesse Lantz finished third in the 400-meter relay in a time of 48.76 seconds.

Wheeler was fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12.31 seconds.

Freshman Braiden Judson finished fourth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 57.7 seconds.

Jaxon Chandler was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 21.49 seconds.

Waverly returns to action Monday when it hosts Seton Catholic and Vestal.
