NTL BASEBALL: THETGA TOSSES SIX-HITTER; ATHENS BLANKS CV, 6-0 (18 PHOTOS) (2026-04-30)

ATHENS — Junior Duncan Thetga scattered six hits in a complete-game win, and junior Kam Wheeler rapped out four hits to lead Athens to a 9-0 win over Cowanesque Valley here Thursday afternoon in NTL baseball action.

Thetga struck out four and walked one in seven innings to earn the win.

The Wildcats scored four runs — all with two outs — in the top of the first inning to take command early.

With two outs, junior Brady Flynn and Wheeler each singled, sandwiched around a walk to Thetga, to load the bases.

Junior Connor Davidson drove in two runs with a two-RBI single to right field, and freshman Zeke Noble doubled the lead with a two-run double.

Junior Alex McQuay and freshman Shea Davidson added two-out RBI singles in the third inning to push the Athens lead to 6-0.

A two-RBI double by Flynn, and an RBI single by Wheeler in fourth inning capped the scoring for the Wildcats

Wheeler was 4-for-4 with two runs scored, and one RBI, while Flynn doubled and singled, scored one run, and had two RBI, and Noble doubled and singled, and drove in two runs to pace Athens' 14-hit attack.

Thetga added two singles in the win, while Connor Davidson singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs, Shea Davidson and McQuay each singled and knocked in one run, and junior Brendan Cooke singled and scored one run.

Sophomore Ty Owen and senior Nick Grazul each scored runs for the Wildcats.

Athens, now 12-2, hosts Towanda Saturday at 11 a.m.
