WAVERLY — Waverly overcame an early deficit, behind 16 hits, including six extra-base hits, and cruised to an 18-6 win over Addison here Saturday afternoon in non-league softball action.

The Panthers scored twice in the top of the first innings without the benefit of a hit, but the Wolverines answered with six runs in the home half of the inning, and four more in the second inning to take a 10-2 lead.

Junior Lecksie Douglas' three-run home run gave Waverly a 5-2 lead in the first, and freshman Anna Fassett's RBI single capped the scoring.

Freshman Taylin Gonzalez tagged a two-run home run in the second inning to make it 8-2, then freshman Ayla Wheeler's RBI double, and sophomore Melanie Skovira's RBI single extended the lead to 10-2.
