Valley Sports ReportODESSA — Sophomore Vida Rossi was a double-winner to lead the Tioga girls to a third-place finish, and senior Gavin Gavin Albrecht logged the boys only win in a sixth-place finish here Friday at the Legends of the Night Track & Field Invite.
LADY TIGERS TIE FOR THIRD IN 14-TEAM FIELD
Rossi won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.88 seconds, and freshman Grace Howey placed fourth in 13.81 seconds.
Rossi won the long jump with a leap of 17-feet, 7 1/2-inches
Sophomore Amber Bennett placed second in the pole vault at 7-feet.
Freshman Reese Mills finished third in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 12:56.66. She placed sixth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:56.91.
Junior Sadie Marshall placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.69 seconds.
Amber Bennett placed fifth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:26.56.
Tioga's 1,600-meter relay team (no names provided) placed fifth in a time of 4:52.54.
Freshman Natalie Kemp finished ninth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:10.81.
Sophomore Aubrey Bennett finished 13th in the triple jump at 22-feet, 5 1/3-inches.
TIOGA BOYS FINISH SIXTH IN 14-TEAM FIELD
Albrecht won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 13-feet.
Senior James Miller placed second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 55.56 seconds.
Senior Dominic Palmer finished third in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 17.83 seconds. He ran 16.79 seconds in the prelims.
Albrecht finished third in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.8 seconds, and Miller was seventh in 12.64 seconds.
Miller placed sixth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.58 seconds
Tioga's 400-meter relay team (no names provided) finished seventh in a time of 48.95 seconds.
Junior Markel Watkins finished eighth in the shot put with a heave of 33-feet, 4 1/2-inches, with junior Bailey Rugh 10th in 32-feet, 8-inches.,
Watkins finished 12th in the discus with a toss of 95-feet, 5-inches, and Rugh was 13th at 81-feet, 6-inches.
Senior Talon Wood finished ninth in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 12:12.47.
Wood was 10th in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:30.81. He was 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 31-feet, 3 1/2-inches.
Palmer finished 10th in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:26.00. He was 12th in the high jump at 5-feet, 2-inches.
Tioga returns to action Thursday at Edison.
