Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — The postseason begins on the track South of the Border this week with Athens hosting the NTL Track & Field Championships Friday as the 2025-26 spring sports regular season winds to a close.
There are 32 events on this week's docket, including nine on Thursday, and six each on Monday and Tuesday.
The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:
MONDAY (6)
• Waverly hosts Seton Catholic in a track & field meet.
• Waverly baseball and softball are on the road to face Owego Free Academy.
• Sayre hosts Northeast Bradford on the baseball and softball diamonds at Riverfront Park.
TUESDAY (6)
• Sayre baseball and softball hosts Troy.
• Tioga hosts Southern Cayuga and O-M on the links at the Tioga Golf Club.
WEDNESDAY (5)
• Waverly baseball hosts STAC divisional rival Owego.
• Waverly hosts STAC Central Division foe Chenango Forks.
THURSDAY (9)
• Athens baseball and softball hosts Canton.
• Waverly baseball hosts Onoonta.
• Waverly softball plays host to Binghamton.
FRIDAY (5)
• Athens hosts the NTL Track & Field Championships.
• Waverly flag football wraps up the regular season at Owego.
SATURDAY (3)
• Waverly hosts former IAC rival Tioga on the softball diamond.
• Tioga hosts Sayre in a non-league baseball contest.
