STAC BOYS TENNIS: WAVERLY ROLLS TO 6-1 WIN OVER SETON CATHOLIC (2026-05-04)

BINGHAMTON — Waverly won a pair of three-set decisions, and pulled out both tiebreakers in a 6-1 win over Seton Catholic in STAC boys tennis action here Monday afternoon.

Logan Roskow won the first singles match for the Wolverines, winning the first set, 6-0, and the third set, 6-4. In between, Seton's ace Cooper Guy won the second set, 6-2.

In the second singles, Nate Kellogg won the first set, 7-5. Tied at 1-1 in the second set, Seton's Sean Lee retired to give Kellogg the win.

In the match of the day, Waverly's Nate McEwen topped Seton's Dominick Williamson in three sets.

McEwen won the first set, 7-6, thanks a 7-4 win in the tiebreaker. After Williamson won the second set, 6-4, McEwen won a marathon, 14-12, decision in the decisive third set.

Waverly's only setback came in the fourth singles when Owen Fassett was forced to retire.

Waverly swept all three doubles matches by 2-0 scores.

Trent VanDyke and Collin Wheeler won by scores of 6-3 and 6-2 in the first singles, while Finn Williams and Dakota French won the second single by scores of 6-1 and 6-2.

Kam Sorenson and Alvin Gao closed out the match with wins of 6-2 and 7-6 (7-2 in tiebreaker).

Waverly, now 6-5, wraps up the regular season Tuesday when it hosts Owego.
