Valley Sports ReportELMIRA HEIGHTS — Sophomore Amber Bennett was a triple-winner, and sophomore Vida Rossi won two events, and broke her own school record again to lead the Lady Tigers to a pair of wins here Thursday in an IAC track & field tri-meet, while senior Gavin Albrecht was a double-winner to pace the Tioga boys.
GIRLS
Tioga 51, Watkins Glen 47, Edison 37
Amber Bennett won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:19.93, and freshman Maren Seaver was third in 1:27.64.
Amber Bennett won the triple jump with a mark of 26-feet, 6-inches, and sophomore Aubrey Bennett was third at 24-feet, 3 1/2-inches.
Amber Bennett also won the pole vault at 6-feet, 6-inches.
Rossi won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.75 seconds.
Rossi won the long jump with a school-record leap of 18-feet, 8-inches, eclipsing her own mark set less than two weeks ago by six inches. Freshman Elizabeth Seck was third at 12-feet, 8 3/4-inches.
Junior Sadie Marshall won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.64 seconds, while Amber Bennett was second in 19.2 seconds, and Seaver was third at 21.81 seconds.
Freshman Reese Mills won the 3,000-meter run in a time of 13:13.93. She was third the 1,500-meter run in a time of 6:00.95
Kemp finished second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:09.25.
Aubrey Bennett placed third in the 800-meter run in a time of 3:07.05.
BOYS
Edison 58, Watkins Glen 46.5, Tioga 35.5
Albrecht won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.78 seconds.
Albrecht won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 13-feet, and sophomore Jed Decker tied for third at 7-feet.
Senior Dominic Palmer won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 17.74 seconds.
Senior James Miller won the 400-meter dash in a time of 54.81 seconds. He was third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.54 seconds.
Junior Caden Rapp was third in the triple jump with a marker 31-feet.
Palmer was second in the shot put with a heave of 34-feet, 9 1/4-inches, and junior Markel Watkins was third at 33-feet, 11 3/4-inches. Palmer was fourth in the long jump at 17-feet, 5-inches.
Watkins was second in the discus with a toss of 97-feet, 8-inches.
Senior Talon Wood placed second in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:16.71. He place third in the high jump at 5-feet, 4-inches.
Tioga returns to action Tuesday at Newfield.
