THE VALLEY — The postseason hits high gear this week, headlined by PIAA Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday, and postseason baseball and softball action on both sides of the border throughout the week.
There are 17 postseason events on the docket this week, including six on Wednesday, and four on Monday.
The following are all of the postseason events this week:
MONDAY (4)
• Waverly baseball will host Chenango Valley in Game One of their best-of-three series in the Section IV, Class A semifinals.
• Tioga will compete in the Section IV, Class C boys golf championships at Maple Hills Golf Course in Marathon.
• The IAC pentathlon will be held at Odessa-Montour High School.
TUESDAY (0)
There are no events scheduled.
WEDNESDAY (6)
• Tioga's Jack Bombard will play at the Section IV, Boys Golf Individual Championships at Mark Twain Golf Course.
• Waverly will compete at the STAC Track & Field Championships.
• Waverly will host the winner of the Chenango Valley-Windsor game in the Class C semifinals of the flag football playoffs.
• Tioga will compete in Day 1 of the IAC Track & Field Championships.
• Tioga baseball hosts Delhi in the opening round the Section IV, Class C playoffs. (If Tioga wins, it play at Trumansburg Friday.)
• Waverly travels to Chenango Valley for Game 2 of their Section IV, Class A semifinal's best-of-three series.
THURSDAY (3)
• Athens squares off with Montoursville in the District 4, Class 4A Championship baseball game at Bowman Field.
• Tioga will compete in Day 2 of the IAC Track & Field Championships.
• Tioga softball hosts Oxford in the opening round the Section IV, Class C playoffs.
FRIDAY (3)
• Athens senior Abby Burgess and Graham Wanck will be in action at the PIAA, Class AAA Track & Field Championships at Shippensburg University.
• Athens softball will face Central Columbia in the District 4, Class 4A semifinals at Elm Park.
SATURDAY (1)
• Athens senior Abby Burgess and Graham Wanck will be in action at the PIAA, Class AAA Track & Field Championships at Shippensburg University.
