Valley Sports ReportODESSA — Tioga senior Dominic Palmer placed third in the pentathlon, which is part of the IAC Track & Field Championships, here Monday afternoon at Charles Martin Field.
Groton's Ross Bush won IAC gold with 2,920 points, while Newfield's Zion King won silver with 2,639 points, and Palmer earned bronze with 2,507 points. Tioga senior Talon Wood was ninth with 2,073 points.
Palmer won the shot put with a heave of 37-feet, 7-inches, while Wood was ninth at 24-feet, 1-inch.
Palmer placed second in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.87 seconds, and Wood was ninth in 20.95 seconds.
Palmer and Wood tied for second in the high jump, both clearing the bar at 5-feet, 5-inches.
Wood placed third in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:42.38, and Palmer was eighth in 5:27.36.
Palmer finished seventh in the long jump at 16-feet, 5 3/4-inches, and Wood was ninth at 15-feet, 1/2-inch.
The IAC Championships are set for Wednesday and Thursday at Trumansburg.
