IAC TRACK & FIELD: ALBRECHT HELPS TIOGA BOYS TO SECOND-PLACE FINISH; ROSSI WINS THIRD IAC GOLD (14 PHOTOS) (2026-05-22)

TRUMANSBURG — Senior Gavin Albrecht won the pole vault to help the Tioga boys to a second-place finish at the IAC Small School Track & Field Championships, and sophomore Vida Rossi picked up her third IAC gold here Thursday as part of the 400-meter relay.

TIOGA BOYS FINISH SECOND IN SMALL SCHOOL FIELD

Newfield won the team title with 102 points, while Tioga and O-M tied for second with 84 points, and S-VE was fourth with 68 points.

Albrecht won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 13-feet, 6-inches, and senior Dominic Palmer was fourth at 8-feet, 6-inches.

Senior James Miller placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:01.82.

Senior Talon Wood placed second in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:04.5 Wood was seventh in the triple jump at 33-feet, 5-inches

Junior Bailey Rugh placed third in the discus with a throw of 100-feet, 6-inches, and junior Markel Watkins was fifth at 95-feet, 10-inches.

LADY TIGERS FINISH FOURTH IN SMALL SCHOOL FIELD

Odessa-Montour won the team title with 126 points, while Groton was second with 98, Southern Cayuga was third with 87.33 points, and the Tigers tallied 50 points.

Rossi, who won 100-meter dash and long jump titles Wednesday, teamed with freshmen Grace Howey and Natalie Kemp, and junior Sadie Marshall to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 52.39 seconds.

Freshman Mills placed third in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 12:44.29.

Sophomore Amber Bennett placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:17.08, and freshman Maren Seaver was sixth in 1:21.75.

Amber Bennett was fifth in the pole vault at 6-feet, 6-inches, and sophomore Aubrey Bennett was sixth at 6-feet. Amber Bennett was 12th in the triple jump at 25-feet, 2 1/2-inches.

Sophomore Cora Szymański finished ninth in the 1,500-meter run I a time of 7:19.37

Tioga returns to action Wednesday at Newark Valley in the Section IV, Class C Championships.
