Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — Waverly looks to avenge an early-season loss to Oneonta at home Wednesday in the Section IV, Class A softball semifinals, while the Waverly track & field athletes begin their trek to qualify for States.

Section IV, Class A
3-Oneonta (15-6) at 2-Waverly (14-5), 5 p.m.: The Wolverines are coming off a 7-0 loss to Corning in the STAC semifinals 11 days ago, while the Yellowjackets blanked Chenango Valley, 13-0, on May 12.
Oneonta won the regular-season match-up, 13-3, at Waverly, but the Wolverines went on a 10-game win streak after the loss.
The winner advances to take on the winner of top-seeded Susquehanna Valley (16-3) and fourth-seeded 13-4 in the Class B finals Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Greenlight Grand Slam Park.
TRACK & FIELD
Waverly at Section IV, Class B Championships, 4 p.m. @ Ithaca H.S.: Sophomores Kaylin Twedt and Gianna Soprano lead Waverly into action at the Class championships.
