The Sports ReportsCorning sophomore Delaney Abel won a STAC Championship with an under-par round, and Tioga senior Gavin Albrecht won a Section IV, Class C title with a scheool-record effort. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm "Athletes of the Week" for the week ending May 23.
CORNING'S ABEL NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM GIRLS REGIONAL "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Abel shot a women's course record 68 at the girls' STAC golf championships at the Apalchin Golf Course.
Abel's round was 3-under par and broke the old course record of 73 set in 1995.

TIOGA'S ALBRECHT NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM BOYS REGIONAL "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Albrecht won the pole vault at the IAC Championships, clearing the bar at 13-feet, 6-inches.
Albrecht also finished second in the long jump at 18-feet, 5 1/4-inches, and second in the 100-meter dash in 11.77 seconds.
