Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY / ATHENS — Waverly, Towanda, Troy, and Elmira each went 2-0 Wednesday in the opening night of action here in the Waverly Basketball Summer League.
Athens was 1-1 on the night, and Tioga was 0-2.
In Waverly, Waverly rolled over Tioga, 51-26, and Mansfield, 57-26, while Towanda topped Mansfield, 63-30, and Candor, 44-30.
Tioga also dropped a 43-42 decision to Edison.
At Athens, Athens topped Wellsboro, 39-33, but dropped a 42-34 decision to Troy.
Troy also beat Horseheads, 46-26, while Elmira topped Corning, 68-38, and Wellsboro, 50-46.
JUNIOR VARSITY
Waverly, Athens, Edison, and Elmira each went 2-0 in Week 1 on Tuesday.
