Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Athens, Towanda and Wyalusing each went 2-0 in the opening night of play in the Athens Junior High Girls Basketball Summer League.
Athens rolled to wins of 43-10 over Waverly, and 40-3 over Hughesville.
Wyalusing topped Hughesville 34-15, and Troy, 31-18, while Towanda beat Troy, 45-28, and then topped Waverly, 37-16.
In action tonight, Athens squares off with Troy and Wyalusing, while Waverly plays Hughesville and Troy.
Games are played at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. in the new and old gyms at Athens Area High School.
