Valley Sports ReportWELLSBORO — Carly Bishop was dominant in the pitcher's circle, leading Athens to a 5-0 win over Wellsboro here Saturday in pool play in the District 15 Minors Division softball tournament.
Bishop spun a one-hitter, striking out 16 and walking two in six shutout innings.
Bishop also led Athens at the plate with a triple and a single, one run scored, and two RBI, while Adelaide Gorman singled twice and scored two runs, and Jaelyn Ashby doubled and scored one run.
Break Wilcox drove in one run in the win, and Morgan Robinson scored one run.
Athens, now 2-0 in pool play, hosts Towanda Monday.
