VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: TIOGA'S BOMBARD HEADLINES SUPER 7 AS 'BOYS NEWCOMER OF THE SPRING' (2026-06-21)

THE VALLEY — A standout on the Tioga baseball team as a freshman and sophomore, junior Jackson Bombard transitioned to the links this spring and was immediately the Tigers top golfer. He is the 2026 Valley Sports Report "Boys Newcomer of the Spring."

Bombard led the Tiger golf squad to the Section IV, Class C team championships, and qualified for the Section IV Individual Championships.

Bombard averaged a plus-6.4 per nine, roughly a 42.4, including a low round of plus-2 37 at Shepard Hills.

He shot an 88 at the Class C team championships, and a 96 at the Individual Championship.

Zeke Noble, freshman, Athens baseball:
Noble made an immediate impact for the Wildcats, and was in the staring line-up to open the season.

He hit .420 (21 hits in 50 ABs) with three doubles, 12 RBI, 11 runs scored and two stolen bases. He had a .517 on-base percentage and a .997 OPS.

Gavin Kithcart, junior, Tioga golf:
Another former baseball standout, Kithcart averaged a plus-8.4 per nine holes, roughly a 44.4 scoring average.

Kithcart's low round on the season was a plus-2 37 at Shepard Hills.

Avery Gorsline, freshman, Athens track & field: Gorsline medaled in his first trip to the District 4, Class AAA Championships, placing eighth in the 110-meter hurdles (43.63 seconds). He also ran on 3,200-meter relay that won a fourth-place medal in a time of 8:31.37.

At the NTL Championships, Gorsline was third in the 300-meter hurdles in 44.12 seconds, and ran on 1,600-meter relay team that won NTL gold.

Daltton Davis, senior, Waverly baseball: Davis hit .310 (18 hits in 58 ABs) with one double, 10 RBI, 18 runs scored, and eight stolen bases. He also walked 18 times and was hit by pitches three times for a .494 on-base percentage.

Shea Davidson, freshman, Athens baseball:
Davidson hit .304 (14 hits in 46 ABs) with 11 RBI, seven runs scored, and three stolen bases.

Alex McQuay, junior, Athens baseball: McQuay hit .325 (13 hits in 40 ABs) with four doubles, one triple, 10 RBI, and 11 runs scored.
