Valley Sports ReportBIG FLATS — Big Flats used a big third inning to pull away in an 11-2 win over Waverly here Wednesday evening in pool play in the District 6 Majors Division baseball playoffs.
Big Flats scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, then extend the lead to 7-0 with five runs in the third inning.
Waverly scored twice in the fifth inning to close the gap to 7-2, but Big Flats answered with four runs in the home half of the inning.
Beau Bauman singled twice and drove in one run, and Brody Payne singled twice to pace Waverly's nine-hit attack, while Chase Seager singled and knocked in a run, and Isaac Rosenberger singled and scored one run.
Lucas Wolcott, Jackson Mosier, and Robert Henderson each added a single for Waverly, and Easton Beach scored one run.
Waverly, now 0-2 in pool play, returns to action Friday when it hosts Corning-Painted Post.
