ATHENS — Three Athens pitchers combined on a no-hitter in an 11-0 win over Sayre here Wednesday evening in the final game of pool play in the District 15 Little League Majors Division baseball playoffs.

Athens finishes pool play at 2-1, while Sayre falls to 1-2.

Athens scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, then added five runs in the second inning to take a 7-0 lead.

Athens brought the 10-run "mercy" rule into effect with four runs in the third inning to extend the lead to 11-0.

Connor Robinson fanned seven of the eight batters he faced in 2 2/3 innings of perfect ball to pick up the win.

Lincoln Miller struck out the only batter he faced in relief, then Bentley Stephens struck out two and walked one in a hitless inning of relief.

Leo Loziere tripled and singled, scored one run, and had four RBI, and Wyatt Raupers doubled twice and drove in two runs to pace Athens' four-hit attack.

Landon Briggs doubled, scored one runs and drove in two runs in the win, while Stephens singled and scored one run, Easton Hubbard and Parker Collum each scored two runs, and Robinson, Beau Hall, Klase Bardo, and Miller crossed the plate once.

Beckett Blythe worked a walk for Sayre and was the only batter to reach base.

Xander Parrish had the best turn on the mound for Sayre, allowing two unearned runs on two hits, while striking out one and walking one in one inning of work.

Athens returns to action Friday when it hosts Southern Tioga in the quarterfinals of bracket play, while Sayre travels to Troy.
