GILLETT — Athens poured 19 runs across the plate in the second inning and rolled to a 29-3 win over Northern Tier Little League here Friday evening in pool play action in the District 15 Little League Baseball 11U playoffs.
Kaleb Chambers was 4-for-4 with two doubles, four runs scored, and four RBI, while Gio Sharpe was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, and Bentley Arcesi had three hits, one run scored, and three RBI to pace Athens' 24-hit attack.
Marshall Warburton tripled and singled, scored four runs, and had two RBI in the win, while Calvin Mosher singled twice, scored four runs, and had three RBI, Jase Blair singled twice, scored three runs, and drove in three runs, River Swingle singled twice, scored two runs, and knocked in two runs, and Declan Odell singled twice and scored twice.
Maddox Kreider singled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs for Athens, while Mason Shores singled, scored one run, and had three RBI, Austin Cron doubled, scored two runs, and knocked in one run, and Malachi Peterson singled and drove in two runs.
Athens hosts Northern Tier Little League Sunday afternoon in the final game of pool play.
