DISTRICT 6 LITTLE LEAGUE (MINORS): CORNING ROLLS TO 16-1 WIN OVER WAVERLY (2026-06-27)

CORNING — Corning-Painted Post scored eight runs in the bottom of the first inning, and cruised to a 16-1 three-inning win over Waverly here Saturday afternoon in District 6 Minors Division baseball pool play action.

Waverly scored its run in the top of the second inning, but C-PP answered with five runs in the home half of the inning, and three more in the third to invoke the "mercy" rule.

Ryder Wolcott singled and scored one run, and Marcel Phillips singled to account for Waverly's two hits.

Waverly, now 2-3 in pool play, returns to action Sunday at Big Flats.
