SAYRE — Sayre rallied from an early deficit, but Canton used a big sixth inning to pull out a 14-7 decision here Sunday afternoon in consolation bracket action in the District 15 Little League Majors Division baseball action.
Sayre trailed 5-1 after Canton scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning, but answered with one run in the home half of the fourth, and five more in the fifth to take a 7-5 lead.
Canton rallied with nine runs in the top of the sixth inning to stay alive in the consolation bracket.
Canton also avenged a 10-4 loss to Sayre in pool play.
Andrew Howey was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, and two RBI, while Connor Kmetz singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in one run to pace Sayre's nine-hit attack.
Xander Parrish singled and drove in a run for Sayre, while Wesley Szollosy singled and scored one run, Razier VanHousen and Brendan Gilson each added a single, and Beckett Blythe scored one run.
