Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Athens poured 11 runs across the plate in the bottom of the first inning, and a pair of Athens hurlers combined on a perfect game in a 20-0 three-inning win over Northern Tier Little League here Sunday afternoon in the final game of pool play in the District 15 Little League Baseball 11U division.
Calvin Mosher struck out all six batters he faced in two innings to earn the win, and Bentley Arcesi struck out two in one inning.
Mason Shores doubled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in three runs, and River Swingle and Declan Odell each doubled and singled, scored two runs, and knocked in two runs in Athens' 16-hit attack.
Gil Sharpe doubled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run in the win, while Bentley Arcesi singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in one run, Calvin Mosher and Austin Cron each singled, scored one run, and had two RBI, and Jase Blair singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run.
Kaleb Chambers doubled, scored one run and knocked in one run for Athens, while Maddox Kreider singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, Malachi Peterson singled and scored two runs, and Marshall Warburton scored two runs and had one RBI.
Athens and Northern Tier LL will square off again Friday at Sayre in the opening game of bracket play.
