Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Athens pushed 13 runs across the plate in the bottom of the third inning to blow open a one-run game en route to a 14-0 four-inning win over Troy here in the second round of the consolation bracket in the District 15 Little League Baseball playoffs.
Lincoln Miller started on the mound for Athens in a combined no-hitter, striking out one and walking one in one scoreless inning.
Easton Hubbard earned the win, striking out four and walking one in three hitless innings.
Athens took a quick lead with a run in the home half of the first inning.
Wyatt Raupers hit a two-RBI triple and a two-RBI double in the third inning, and Parker Collum and Tucker Owens each had two-run doubles.
Raupers was 3-for-3 with one triple, one double, one run scored, and five RBI, and Collum was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, and two RBI to pace Athens' 13-hit attack.
Hubbard doubled and singled, scored one run, and drove in one run in the win, while Beau Hall singled twice, scored one run, and knocked in one run, Owens doubled, scored one run, and had two RBI, and Connor Robinson singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run.
Klase Bardo singled and scored one run for Athens, while Miller scored two runs, , and Leo Loziere, Bentley Stephens and Landon Briggs each crossed the plate once.
Athens, which was knocked into the consolation bracket via a 4-3 loss to Southern Tioga, will host Canton Monday in the consolation semis. Canton advanced with a 20-12 win over Southern Tioga.
