Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Elmira and Troy finished the regular season with just one loss and are the top two seeds in the upcoming Waverly Summer League Varsity Division playoffs, while Waverly an Athens also qualified for the playoffs.
Elmira finished off the regular season at 11-1 with a 55-37 win over Athens on Wednesday, while Troy topped Towanda, 52-43, and Candor, 55-46 to finish the season at 10-1.
Waverly beat Towanda, 58-45, and Corning, 62-48, to finish 8-3 and will be the 3-seed in the upcoming playoffs.
With its loss to Elmira, Athens finishes the season at 7-4 and will be the fifth seed.
The varsity playoffs will be held Wednesday, with the JV playoffs set for Thursday.
