Valley Sports ReportHORSEHEADS — Junior Ty Owen shot even-par to lead Athens to a win over Horseheads here Monday afternoon in non-league boys golf action at Soaring Eagles Golf Course.
Owen fired a 35 and senior Eli Hicks carded a 37 to pace the Wildcats in a 201-244 victory.
Sophomore Jacob Saxon shot a 40 for Athens, while senior Colin Congdon added a 43, and senior Lucas Greninger tacked on a 46.
Senior Duncan Thetga had a non-scoring round of 47 for Athens, and Peter Bertsch had a 43.
Nolan Manwaring led Horseheads with a 47.
GIRLS
Junior Brooke Lyon shot a season-low 37 to pace the Lady Wildcats, while freshman Lilah Carlson carded a 40, and Annie Davis shot a season-low 52.
Athens returns to action Tuesday at Shepard Hills.
