WAVERLY — A pair of Johnson City golfers broke to to overcome another strong outing for Waverly in a 217-223 decision here Tuesday afternoon in STAC boys golf action.

Kasen Dobronsky and Jerry Bensing each shot rounds off 39 on the par-37 front nine at The Club of Shepherd Hills to pace the Wildcats in the win.

Junior Griff Walter fired a 40 to lead the Wolverines, while 8th-grader Silas Bennett shot a 43, and junior Daniel Brady carded a 44.

Daniel Fisher and sophomore Maddex Presher each shot rounds of 48 for Waverly, and sophomore Trevor Allen tacked on a non-scoring round of 54.

Waverly, now 2-1, returns to action Thursday at Seton Catholic.
