Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Waverly fought off Johnson City in the second set in a sweep here Tuesday night in STAC Central Division volleyball action.
The Wolverines won by scores of 25-8, 25-20, and 25-8.
"We have been working on our team chemistry and building a strong foundation," said Waverly coach Hailee Rote. "The girls did great supporting each other and being good teammates.
"Kendall Rockwell led the team and was ready at the net the entire match," she added. "Meeya wheeler ran a great offense and Layla Oeschlin and Leraya Teeter led the team defensively."
Leraya Teeter led Waverly with eight service aces, eight digs, and three kills, while Meeya WHeeler had 15 setter assists and five digs, and Kendall Rockwell registered seven kills and one block.
Layla Oeschlin had three aces and six digs in the win, while Ava Heath added two aces and two kills, and Emma Richards-Randall chipped in with two digs.
Waverly, now 3-2, returns to action Thursday at Seton Catholic.
