Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Waverly dropped its sixth straight decision of the season — a 6-0 loss to Windsor here Wednesday afternoon in STAC girls tennis action, but it was the Wolverines' most competitive match to this point.
Senior Sophia Nierstedt lost to Genevieve Criddle in three sets, dropping a 6-4 decision in the first set, before bouncing back for a 6-4 win in the second set. Criddle won the tie-breaker third set, 10-7.
Nierstedt's second-set win was just the second of the season for the Wolverines.
Junior Rylie Witman dropped a hard-fought, 7-5 and 6-4, decision to Dacia Whiting in the second singles.
Sophomore Aubrey Everson dropped an 6-3 and 6-0 decision in third singles, and freshman Morgan Chilson lost 6-0, 6-0 in fourth singles.
In doubles action, sophomore Kendal Talada and freshman Lilliana Dean lost 6-1 and 6-0 in first doubles. Talada and Dean notched Waverly's first set win in a match last week.
Freshman Brielle Dillon and 8th-grader Olivia Stotler dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Hannah Adorno and Juliyah Futrell in second doubles.
Waverly, now 0-6, returns to action Friday at Susquehanna Valley.
