Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Senior Eli Hicks fired his second sub-par round as Athens handed Towanda its first league loss since 2024 here Thursday afternoon NTL boys golf action at The Club at Shepard Hills.
The Wildcats, now 21-4, topped Towanda (25-1), 149-157, and Wyalusing, 149-185.
Hicks fired his second round of 2-under par 35 this week, while sophomore Jacob Saxon shot a 37, junior Ty Owen shot a 38, and senior Lucas Grenninger carded a 39.
Hicks recorded birdies on holes six, seven, and eight, while Grenninger birdie the seventh hole.
Senior Duncan Thetga added a 44, and senior Colin Congdon shot a non-scoring round of 50.
Boom Thompson led Towanda with a 1-under par 36, and Graham Welles shot a 38.
Myles Kershner and Noah Kilmer led Wyalusingwith rounds of 45.
