Valley Sports ReportNORWICH — Waverly bounced from a second-set loss to post a 3-1 win over Norwich here Wednesday night in STAC volleyball action.
The Wolverines cruised to a 25-10 win in the first set, but the Purple Tornadoes bounced back with a 25-22 win in the second set.
Waverly closed out the match with wins of 25-16 and 25-18.
Freshman led Waverly with Meeya Wheeler with 22 setter assists, and nine digs, while senior Ava Heath registered nine kills, eight digs and two aces, junior Lauren Welles had four kills and three blocks, and freshman Addison Foster had five kills and one block.
Sophomore Leraya Teeter recorded 11 digs in the win, while senior Emma Richards-Randall had five assists and two digs, and junior Kendall Rockwell posted six kills
Junior Ellie Cole had three aces and three digs for Waverly, while senior Mady Briggs added three digs, and senior Savannah Dorsey chipped in with two kills.
Waverly, now 5-3, returns to action Tuesday at Susquehanna Valley.
