Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Owego won the contested matches to defeat Waverly, 6-1, in STAC Central Division girls tennis action here Friday.
The Wolverines would receive a forfeit victory at third doubles.
At first singles, Meredith Westcott downed Sophia Nierstedt, 6-0, 6-1.
Jana Nikulich bested Rylie Witman at second singles, 6-0, 6-3.
Christine Snyder beat Aubrey Everson, 6-4, 6-1, at third singles.
Fourth singles went to Peyton Deprospero over Morgan Chilson, 6-0, 7-6 (7-2).
In the doubles matches, the River Hawks’ Shatha Alotaibi and Emma Dixon defeated Kendal Talada and Melanie Bennett, 6-1, 6-4, at first doubles.
Peyton Rogers and Raselle Gilbert dropped Brielle Dillon and Olivia Stotler, 6-1, 6-4.
The two teams will meet again on Tuesday at Owego.
