Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Led by four-time winner sophomore Audrey Kellogg, Waverly posted several lifetime-best times, and had two swimmers record their first varsity wins in a 109-64 win over Johnson City here Tuesday evening in STAC girls swimming action.
Sophomore Megan Atanasoff and Brynna Twedt were triple-winners for the Wolverines, who improve to 5-0 on the season, and sophomore Ayla Wheeler, and 7th-grader Arielle Allison were double-winners.
Atanasoff, Brynna Twedt, and Wheeler teamed with 7th-grader Jolie Fravel to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:06.11. It was the first varsity win for Fravel.
Kellogg, Atanasoff, and Allison teamed with 7th-grader Liv McGee to win the 200-yard freestyle in at time of 1:52.4. It was McGee's first varsity win.
Kellogg, Brynna Twedt, Wheeler and Allison teamed to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:11.59.
Kellogg won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:12.34, and Allison was second in 2:20.08.
Kellogg led a sweep in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.94 seconds, while Allison was second in 1:03.94, and 7th-grader Kenna Twedt was third in a lifetime-best time of 1:08.07. Olive Sharpsteen had a personal-best time of 1:31.74.
Atanasoff won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.77 seconds, and Brynna Twedt was second in 26.67 seconds. Seventh-grader Sofia Tomesh logged a personal-best time of 34.2 seconds.
Atanasoff placed second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:06.94, and Harper Varano had a lifetime-best time of 1:33.61.
Brynna Twedt led a sweep in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:07.15, while Wheeler was second in 1:14.99, and Kenna Twedt was third in 1:20.71.
Steck won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:17.34, and McGee was third in a personal-best time of 1:27.73. Fravel posted a personal-best time of 1:29.48 in the event.
Steck finished second in the 200-yard IM in a lifetime-best time of 2:30.83, and Wheeler was third in 2:49.62.
Izzy Miner finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 7:01.96.
Waverly returns to action Oct. 10 at the Elmira Invitational.
