ODESSA — O-M scored three goals after the midpoint of the second half to pull away for a 6-3 win over Tioga here Tuesday night in IAC South Small School Division girls soccer action.
"This was a game of three long momentum swings with O-M wining two of the three swings — most of the first half and the second part of the second half," said interim Tioga coach Jim Walsh.
With the win, O-M pulls into a first-place tie with Tioga, which won the first meeting of the season, 2-1. Both teams have two league games remaining.
"We appear to be on a collision course to play a tie-breaker to determine the division winner," said Walsh. "If it plays out as expected, we will meet again next week at the home field of the team with the best overall record."
Natalie Kemp scored in the first half, but O-M led 3-1 at the intermission.
Kemp scored her second goal early in the second half to trim the deficit, and Mary Van Dusen scored on a chip shot over the O-M keeper with 20:46 remaining in the contest to tie the game at 3-3, but O-M closed out the game with three unanswered goals.
O-M had a 23-15 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
Marcy Moniz recorded seven saves in net for the Tigers.
Tioga returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts Newfield.
