Valley Sports ReportCONKLIN, N.Y. — Junior Daniel Brady posted a top-20 finish to lead Waverly's efforts at the STAC Small School Boys Golf Championships here Tuesday at The Players Club.
Brady shot an 89 to finish in a three-way tie for 19th place, while junior Griff Walter carded a 91 and 8th-grader Silas Bennett added a 92 — both finish just outside the top-25.
"I thought all three guys battled and competed well," said Waverly coach Marc Felt. "Daniel (Brady) played a solid round, and Griff (Walter) and Silas (Bennett) hung in there to the end.
"I’m proud of the progress we’ve made throughout the season, and with a young group returning, we have a lot to look forward to next year," said Felt.
Norwich's Brevin Bennett won the Small School title with an even-par 72, while Seton Catholic's Cooper Within and Oneonta's Kason Miller tied for third with a 76.
