ROCHESTER — The Section IV all-stars, including Tioga junior Jake Robertson, won the gold medal here Sunday at the New York State championships at the AMF Gates Lanes.

Section IV amassed a six-game total of 6,191 pins, more than 200 pins ahead of runner-up Section III, which tallied 5,963 pins. Section V finished third with 5,943 pins.

Of the 66 games rolled by the 11 Section all-star teams 15 of them exceeded 1,000 pins. Section IV rolled five of the 15 games.

Union Springs’ Zach Bobbett paced Section IV in the gold-medal effort with a six-game set of 1,341 pins. He rolled a 649 series in the morning session, and a 692 in the afternoon.

Corning’s Derek Lisi rolled a six-game set of 1,281 on series of 650 and 631, while Windsor’s Trevor Kimble shot a 1,232 on series of 602 and 630, and U-E’s Tim Sladish had an 1,184 on series of 574 and 610.

Robertson shot a 1,091 on series of 533 and and 558. He rolled games of 187, 136 and 210 in the morning, and followed it up with games of 192, 163, and 203 in the afternoon.

Elmira’s Sam McDonald chipped in with a 1,017 on series of 519 and 498.
