VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: IT'S "ALL-VALLEY" WEEK (2018-03-23)

THE VALLEY — “All-Valley” week begins today and stretches through Friday, honoring the top athletes, newcomers, and coaches in each sport, as well as “Crystal Ball” prognostications for the 2018-19 winter seasons.

The week wraps up Friday with “Super 7 Male and Female Athletes of the Fall,” and  “The Final Word” on the 2017-18 winter season.

The schedule is as follows:

NTL GIRLS TRACK & FIELD: DEFENDING DISTRICT 4 CHAMPION LADY WILDCATS RETURN NEARLY INTACT IN 2018 (2018-03-27)

ATHENS — There is good news, and more good news for the Athens girls track & field team, and a great deal of bad news for their NTL, and District 4 counterparts.

The three-time defending NTL champion Lady Wildcats won the program’s first-ever District 4 Championship in 2017. And in 2018, nearly everyone is back, led by four-time PIAA gold medalist senior Breana Gambrell, and returning PIAA medalists senior Emily Lunger, and juniors Rachel Hutchison, and Ariana Gambrell.
