VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: IT'S 'ALL-VALLEY WEEK' (2018-12-01)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — “All-Valley” week for the 2018 fall season begins today and stretches through Saturday, honoring the top athletes, newcomers, and coaches in each sport, as well as “Crystal Ball” prognostications for the 2019 fall season.

The week wraps up Saturday with “Super 7 Male and Female Athletes of the Fall,” and  “The Final Word” on the 2018 fall season.

The schedule is as follows:

VALLEY SPORTS REPORT UNVEILS ALL-VALLEY SPRING, YEAR-END HONORS THIS WEEK (2018-06-24)

THE VALLEY — The 2017-18 high school sports season has come to an end and Valley Sports Report will put the finishing touches on it this week with “All-Valley” honors for the 2018 spring season, as well as our year-end awards.

All-Valley week, which honors the top athletes, newcomers, and coaches in each sport, as well as “Crystal Ball” prognostications for the 2018-19 spring seasons, begins Monday and wraps up Thursday.

Beginning Friday, VSR will put a bow on the entire school year with its year-end awards, culminating Saturday with “The Final Word on 2017-18.”

The schedule is as follows:

MONDAY
All-Valley Golf Super 7;
All-Valley Boys Track & Field Super 7;
All-Valley Baseball Team & Super 7;
Crystal Ball look ahead to the 2019 baseball season.

TUESDAY
All-Valley Girls Track & Field Super 7;
All-Valley Softball Team & Super 7;
Crystal Ball look ahead to the 2019 softball season.

WEDNESDAY
Super 7 Female Newcomers of the Spring;
Super 7 Male Newcomers of the Spring;
Super 7 Storylines of the Spring.

THURSDAY

Super 7 Coaches of the Spring;
Super 7 Male Athletes of the Spring;
Super 7 Female Athletes of the Spring;
“The Final Word” on Spring 2018.

FRIDAY
2017-18 Super 7 Male Newcomers;
Baker’s Dozen Top Storylines of the 2017-18 Sports Year.

SATURDAY
2017-18 Super 7 Male Athletes of the Year;

SAYRE — Numbers are low, but expectations remain high for longtime Sayre girls basketball coach Eileen Sparduti as the Lady Redskins prepare to tip off the 2018-19 season.

Fall of 2018 was a championship season.

Tioga football put another notch on its belt, while the Athens boys soccer program put its name on the map as a District 4 power with the its second title in three years.

The Athens girls soccer program got off the schneid, winning its first D4 title since 2000, and the Waverly volleyball team captured its first-ever Section IV title. ...more
