WAVERLY — The Joe's Marine / WJ Graphics Indians scored 13 runs in the bottom of the first inning to overcome an early deficit en route to a 16-5 four-inning win over the Coaches Pizza / Tomasso's Restaurant Red Sox here Monday evening the Waverly Little League Majors Division baseball playoffs.

Nathan Nocchi stroked a two-run single in the top of the first inning to highlight a four-run rally to give the Red Sox a 4-0 lead.

Kaden Wheeler started the Indians comeback with a three-run home run over the center-field fence to trim the deficit to 4-3.

The Indians’ next two runs scored on bases-loaded walks to make it 5-4.

With the score at 7-4, Wheeler ripped a two-run double to extend the lead to 9-4, and Shea Bailey later capped the rally with a three-run single.

Wheeler homered and doubled, scored two runs, and have five RBI to power the Indians in the win, while Shea Bailey singled, scored two runs, and had three RBI, and Brayden Talada doubled, scored two runs, and had two RBI.

Bryce Bailey singled, scored three runs, stole three bases, and drove in a run in the win, while Evan Davies singled and scored three runs, Tristan Kovacs singled and drove in a run, Isaiah Bretz scored a pair of runs, Sean Bubniak crossed the plate once, and Lincoln Sharpsteen knocked in a run.

Evan Davies earned the win for the Indians, allowing four runs — two earned — on three hits in three innings of work. He fanned seven and walked three.

Nocchi doubled and singled, scored one run, and had two RBI, and Joey Tomasso singled twice, scored a run, and drove in a run for the Red Sox, while Connor Stotler and Tanner Barry each scored a run, and Jake Besecker drove in a run.

The Dodgers and Yankees play in the other semi-final game Tuesday night.
