WAVERLY — The Joe's Marine / WJ Graphics Indians scored three runs in the first inning without a hit and made it stand up in a 3-0 win over Blauvelt Funeral Home / Waverly Pharmacy Dodgers here Saturday in the championship game of the Waverly Little League Majors Division baseball playoffs.
Bryce Bailey tossed a four-hitter to earn the win for the Indians. He fanned seven and walked none in a complete-game effort.
Bailey’s single in the second inning was the Indians’ lone hit of the game off Dodger pitchers Jay Pipher and Brady Blauvelt.
Pipher allowed three runs — one earned — on one hit, while striking out three and walking three in two innings of work. Blauvelt fanned eight in three hitless innings of relief.
Jake VanHouten slugged a pair of doubles, and Joey VanAllen and Damien McConnell each singled to account for the Dodgers’ offense.

Kaden Wheeler and Evan Davies worked walks to load the bases, then Isaiah Bretz plated a run with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.
Wheeler later scooted home on a passed ball to extend the lead to 3-0.
