NTL CROSS COUNTRY: NUMBERS LOW, BUT FELT SEES 'PROMISE" FOR YOUNG SAYRE RUNNERS (2017-09-07)
Valley Sports Report SAYRE — The Sayre cross country teams have just seven runners on the roster for the 2017 season, so competition as a team is not possible, but longtime coach Randy Felt sees potential for his young competitors.
(Sayre opens the 2017 campaign this afternoon at the Wyalusing Lasagna Invite.)
“This team is very young, but they are working and show a lot of promise,” said Felt.
The boys team returns Josh McClelland, Caleb McClelland and Logan Goudreau.
On the girls side, Kayla Hughey and Maddie Romberger return. They will be joined by newcomers Carrie Claypool and Natalia Hill.
ON THE NTL “The league will be very competitive this year,” said Felt. “I think there is a good mix of experienced runners and newcomers that should create some good competition.”
