|COLLEGE SOCCER: COLEGROVE SIBLINGS PLAY IN 'DOUBLEHEADER' AT LEMOYNE COLLEGE (22 PHOTOS) (2017-09-10)
Valley Sports Report
SYRACUSE — It’s not often two siblings from the Valley end up playing Division II soccer.
It’s even less common for a sister and a brother at different schools, in different leagues, and in different states to cross paths and play at the same venue on the same day.
On Saturday, Athens grad Kirsten Colegrove, a senior on the LeMoyne College women’s soccer team, and her younger brother, Shane Colegrove, a freshman at Lock Haven, played in back-to-back games here at Ted Grant Field.
Unfortunately for the siblings, both of their teams came out on the losing end.
Kirsten Colegrove assisted on LeMoyne’s only goal Saturday in a 3-1 loss to Southern New Hampshire.
She also had two shots-on-goal, including one that skimmed across the top of the crossbar.
Later in the day, Shane Colegrove played 30 minutes in Lock Haven’s 3-0 loss to LeMoyne.
The LeMoyne women, now 1-2, return to action Wednesday when they host Franklin Pierce, while the Lock Haven men, now 2-1-1, return to action Wednesday when it hosts Bloomsburg.
